I spent 3 wonderful days this October combining my love for off-road bikes with my love for sunny retreats.
Everything is taken care off by your wonderful host Joao, who can switch between tour host & trainer at the flick of a starter button. This was great for me as I wanted to hit the trails but also get a chance to see some of the island.
The tour is tailored to your abilities and requirements. I was happy to take things at a leisurely pace but if you wanted to scream around leaving a dust trail visible from space, then I can assure you Joao has the skills to craft such a dusty day out.
Joao did a good job of keeping the knobblies dirt side, and road work was thankfully kept to a minimum. There is plenty of challenging terrain in Maderia to keep you smiling and great conversation to be had when you want to hit the stop switch and explain how you ‘would have cleared that’ if you were on your own bike…honest!!
Weirdly there never seems to be any level ground in Madeira as you always seem to be going either up or down!
I loved all 3 days and will definitely be returning for round 2 in 2021.
This was a fantastic experience and the highlight of my trip. I have good street riding experience but little to none off-road. Joao took the time to coach me as we went along with great patience. I gained new skills and confidence as we advanced, and learned so much in just half a day. The day felt like riding with a friend. It was evident that with Joao’s experience level and the amazing beauty of Madeira, there was great potential for everyone from beginner to advanced riders to have an unforgettable experience.

Die Tour hat meine Erwartungen voll übertroffen!
João ist ein sehr guter Lehrer und nimmt sich die Zeit zum erklären, auch für Neulinge im Offroad Bereich wie mich. Er hat alles sehr detailliert und verständlich erklärt und anschließend eine Praxisübung im Gelände mit mir gemacht.
Dieses Angebot hier kann ich jedem empfehlen, der etwas Motorraderfahrung auf der Straße hat und schon immer mal wissen wollte was ein Motocross Bike im Gelände alles kann.
Es gibt nahe zu keine Grenzen!!!

Brilliant from start to finish its was some 5years since being off road but Joao make everything so relaxed and easy great bikes and some fantastic routes. If your in Madeira and want a day or two to remember then this is simply the best.and a big thanks to the other two guys I met Lucas And Thomas who helped when I got stuck.
Super fun day with an amazing guide (the owner) with a premium Bike. Great track. Easy communcation and he has 20 years of experience with MC.

ich komme gerade von Madeira zurück – 10 Tage Aufenthalt und davon 5 Tage Enduro vom Feinsten. Veranstalter war Joao -> mountaingadget
2 Tage fahren – Pause – 1 Tag fahren – Pause – 2 Tage fahren. Also immer wieder Zeit zum relaxen (Ich bin 56 – da braucht man sowas).
Die Touren waren individuell von richtig Endurotouren mit sightseeing bis knall-hart-Enduro. Die Gegend bietet alles und Joao hat entsprechend den Bedürfnissen die Touren gestalltet – und immer wieder einen soften Ausstieg angeboten wenn es zu hart für mich war. Den meisten Respekt hatte ich vor dem 300er Zweitakter – ABER es stellte sich herraus dass das Mopped extrem easy zu handeln war; rumtuckern und crawlen war absolut ok -> aber Knallgas geht auch. Sprich mit Verstand extrem easy zu fahren. Die Orga war 100% ok: Transfer vom Flughafen/Hotel und Hotell/Werkstatt hat immer pünktlich geklappt. Ich hatte das Stadthotel gewählt – für mich als Alleinreisender die Beste Wahl da man nicht im anonymen Hotelviertel rumhängt sondern in der Stadt die ganze Infrastruktur nutzen kann.
Also wer RICHTIG Enduro Offroad fahren will ist da genau richtig.
(PS: die anderen 5 Tage war ich wandern, Tanden-Falschirmfliegen, Segelschiff Wale schauen, lecker Essen und (Poncha) Trinken – aber das ist eine andere Story)
Excellente journée passée avec notre guide Joao, super mec, à l’écoute, parcours d’une beauté à couper le souffle, des 450 presque neuves… de bons conseils, de beaux souvenirs… merci à toi. Nous reviendrons, plus longtemps !! A bientôt amigo ! 😉😉
We were 3 guys from Norway going to Madeira and Mountain Gadget 3 days in March 2022.
One quite experienced enduro rider and two newbies, all in our 50ties and 60ties.
João took great care of us and gave us a fantastic experience.
He made a nice progression for us, making us wanting to go a little bit further and maybe out of the comfort zone every day.
That feeling when you do something you did not believe you could do! 🙂
